Trapezoid field

trapezoid field

The formula for the area of a trapezoid

P=\frac {(a+b) \cdot h }{2}

Legend:

P – trapezoidal area

a – length of the upper side of the trapezoid

b – length of the trapezoid base

h – the length of the height lowered to the side b

Sample task:

Calculate the area of the trapezoid with the base b = 6.5 cm, side a = 5.5 cm and height h = 2.5 cm

P=\frac {(a+b) \cdot h }{2}

P=\frac {(5,5cm+6,5cm) \cdot 2,5cm }{2}

P=\frac {(12cm) \cdot 2,5cm }{2}

P=\frac {30 cm^{2} }{2}

P=15 cm^{2}

The area of the trapezoid with the base b = 6.5 cm and the side a = 5.5 cm and height h = 2.5 cm, is 15cm²
